How to make Macarons and Buttercream
June 25, 2013Hi guys, so if you follow me on Instagram and you will know that I made Macarons a few days back. It isn't the best macaroons but definitely improve a lot compare to last time. Anyway, I'm gonna share a few about how to make Macarons and Buttercream filling.
It's really easy but it takes a lot of time. Of course I wouldn't do it without Yuenie and sis help.. Alright cut the crap and proceed.
For Macaroons, you will need:
- 100g almond ground
- 16 tablespoon of icing powder
- 2 egg whites
- 4 tablespoon of caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
First, you have to mix in 100g of almond ground and 16 tablespoon of icing powder in a blender and blend them well so that it will be smooth and fine and easy enough for you to sieve them. After that, sieve them TWICE. Yes! so it will be perfectly fine.
Then, prepare 2 egg and separate the egg whites and egg yolk. Use the egg white and mix them well. Then add in 4 tablespoon of caster sugar, ONE AT A TIME.
Then, mix them well until it stay when you lift them up.
Add in Vanilla essence or flavor you wanted to make.
Then, stir in the sieved almond powder with icing powder in.
Later pour in the mixture into a piping bag. And you're ready to make macaroons!
Then, pipe a round macaroons shape, not too big not too small. *start piping from the centre and it will eventually spread out.
Later, let it stay for 30 minutes before putting into the oven.
Heat, the oven at 180 Celsius for 3 minutes and turn it to the other side for another 3 minutes. While waiting, you can make buttercream for the filling! I'm making blueberry and vanilla filling.
For the buttercream, you will need,
- 4 tablespoon of caster sugar
- 2 egg yolk
- 3 1/2 tablespoon of milk
- 100g of melted butter.
- Choice of flavor
Put 4 tablespoon of caster sugar and add in egg yolk. Beat until it's well mixed.
Then, add in the 3 1/2 of milk to the mixture and heat them LOW HEAT. Stir them well until it looks like custard. Then, turn off the heat and keep stirring them to room temperature.
Then, mix in 100g melted butter
Then, add in the flavor and put them in a piping bag and rest them in refrigerator. For this, I made butter cream first because sieving took a lot of time.
When the macarons is set, cool it down first and fill in the buttercream and put them in the refrigerator for a day. *remember to keep them refrigerated immediately to the buttercream will melt and it will destroy your macarons*
This time wasn't really a success to mine. It burns a lil but I promise it will be better. I hope this recipe did help you all a bit :D I search this recipe on google and youtube. If you did try making it, tell me about it! :D
